The Landgraab Challenge:

Written by Connie Pulmano – The Mom Cave (www.TheMomCave50.com)

Ok Simmers, it’s time we band together and take down the Landgraab empire! They have owned the Sim world long enough.

· Goal: Take over the Landgraab Empire by evicting them from their lot and moving in. See below for an added challenge.

· Settings: Aging can be set to short, normal or long, but must be turned on for active household. If you use MC Command Center, those settings must be set to “default” for aging for all human sims. This is not a legacy challenge, so when your Sim’s time is up, the challenge is over. All other settings are up to you.

· Create a Sim (Option A - Easier) by Using Randomizer Option:

o Answer the questions to create your new sim. You can ask the game to generate new questions.

o Once your Sim’s story is generated, you must keep it. This includes all aspirations, traits and starting funds.

o You can customize your sim’s appearance and gender identity. Occult sims are ok.

o Cannot modify your sim with CAS cheat, except for appearance/wardrobe/add a pet. You cannot add a spouse, partner, roommate or child through CAS.

o You will start with whatever amount of Simoleans given when you create your sim.

o Create a Sim (Option B – Harder) Rags to Riches:

· Create your own Sim’s appearance however you choose.

· Can choose traits, or randomizer.

· Once you have created your Sim, the same rules apply for keeping the traits you have chosen.

· Once you have moved into a vacant lot, you will use the “money” cheat and reset your funds to zero (see below). You can add an “anything goes party bush” to the lot, but that’s it.

· Once Sim is generated, choose first lot:

o No money or real estate cheats.

o (If you chose Option A) Can purchase a lot and either build and furnish your first house or purchase existing home. Can download home from gallery, as long as you can afford it. Make a note of starting value of your first home, including the cost of the lot.

o (If you chose Option B) Move your Sim onto any empty lot they can afford with their starting funds. For this step, you can bulldoze a lot before your Sim purchases it. The Sim cannot move into a lot with a home.

o After purchasing your lot, reset your Sim’s household funds to zero using the money [amt] cheat.

o If your sim moves from the lot straight into university housing (see below for rules about university), you must reset your sim’s funds less the amount of the lot. For example: Your sim earned 300S while on the empty lot, and applied for university. Your sim now has 225S. You move to university housing, you then will use the money [amt] cheat to put your funds back to 225S.

· Household:

o You can marry/move in a boy/girlfriend (see below about making money).

o You can have kids. Babies can age up whenever you want. Toddlers must max all skills before aging up, unless they have their birthday first. Kids and teens age up after they have an A in school, or when they have their birthday.

o YA children can stay in the home, but you cannot move them back in if you move them out.

o You can have roommates.

o You can have maids, butlers, nannies, or any other services, as long as you can afford them.

o Remember: If your original Sim dies before anyone else in their household, the challenge ends.

· Making Money/University Degrees/Businesses:

o No money cheats allowed.

o Any career/odd jobs are acceptable to earn money, this includes swiping (although I don’t recommend this in real life).

o Your Sim can complete a university degree before getting a job to make a higher wage. Your sim can live in university housing while taking classes. After graduation, your sim can purchase any home or lot they can afford. You can flip the home and purchase a new one, as long as the loans can be paid in full with the profit from that sale.

o You can borrow from other Sims, but you must pay it back in full with any increase in funds with the flip of your next new home.

o You must keep current household funds if merging households through moving in a playable roommate, partner or spouse. Example: You have 40,000s and your new spouse has 25,000s. You will have to reset your household funds to 40,000s with the money [amt] cheat. Any money made after the new Sim moves in can be kept by the household.

o Teens/Kids can make money.

o You can sell furnishings (furniture, decorations, electronics) to upgrade furnishings/electronics or afford updates of your current home. You cannot sell items to increase funds for the purchase of a lot/home. You can sell furnishings of a home you have already purchased to pay off debts.

o Purchasing/taking over a business.

§ You can purchase/fund businesses from current household funds or getting a loan from another Sim.

§ You can keep the business as long as you want, as long as you are running it (either by yourself or managing employees).

§ You can sell a business any time after it has total profit of 10,000S, or you have achieved 5 stars, whichever comes first.

§ If you purchased the business with a loan, you must pay off any remaining balance with the proceeds of the sale of that business.

· Acquiring Real Estate/Moving:

o You can build on an empty lot or download from the gallery. Or, you can take over an existing home by purchase. You can evict current residents (and ultimately the Landgraabs).

o You can keep or change the lot’s current attributes when first moving in and updating the home but must keep those attributes while you are living there.

o The existing home you are taking over must be greater than or equal to your current lot value with all current furnishings. You cannot make a profit by purchasing an existing home that is worth less than yours (see below for lot expanding).

o You cannot decrease the value of your home by removing or selling fixed (pools, walls, etc) or other assets in the home.

o When moving out of current home, you can only keep items that would usually move with a family – decorations, furnishings, electronics, personal items. You must leave all cabinetry, plumbing, fencing, plants not in planters, or anything “attached” as part of the home itself.

§ How to Move

o Existing Home/Apartment:

o Move anything you are keeping into your household inventory in BB mode.

o Make note of the current value of both the home you live in (ending value), and the home you are taking over (starting value) with all furnishings.

o Evict your family from their current lot.

o Evict sims from new lot if needed and purchase the lot with all its furnishings.

o If this is your first flip, all remaining household funds must be used to pay off loans (student or otherwise). You cannot flip a second home until all loans are paid in full. The same rules for selling furnishings apply, once you’ve purchased the home. See “Making Money.”

· Expanding On an Empty Lot:

o You can purchase an empty lot and move your current home/lot.

o The lot must be more valuable than your current lot (you can’t downsize in value).

o You cannot bulldoze a lot and then purchase it. If there is a home on it, you must purchase it with the rules above first.

o Upload your current lot to your gallery. You can keep everything in the home and on the lot when saving.

o Make a note of your current lot value and current funds. This is your starting fund.

o Move household with the same process above.

o Reset funds using the money cheat (money [amt]) to starting funds - lot purchase.

o Once you have purchased the lot with current home and all furnishings, you can bulldoze it.

o Download your saved lot onto the new lot.

· Flip that House!

o After you have moved into a new home, you can sell anything in your inventory, or in the house, to make upgrades in the home.

o You can renovate however you want, but you must increase the lot’s value by at least 10,000s, including furnishings before moving again.

o You must live in the home for at least 2 Sim weeks before moving out.

· Cheats/Aspirations/Mods:

o Cheats:

§ bb.moveobjects – A-Ok!

§ bb.showhiddenobjects – for furnishings, building items or decorations only. Cannot use for items that make money (plants and trees that grow harvestables, gnomes, etc. You must get those the hard way).

§ Money cheat allowed only to change household funds when “selling” your current home, or moving in another Sim (see above).

§ No BB cheats for unlocking gameplay entitlements.

§ No CAS cheats, except to add a pet or change appearance/wardrobe (you can't age a sim up or down, or change their traits).

o Mods/CC:

§ Mods and CC that are for furnishings, objects or CAS items are acceptable.

§ Mods that give any type of skills, lifespan or other advantage to the challenge are not ok.

o Aspiration Rewards:

§ You can purchase any aspiration reward that you can afford. If you have earned it, it’s not cheating in my mind! This includes rewards that prolong life, etc. Save up 5k and you may just get yourself a money tree 😊

§ No cheats to increase aspiration points. You must earn them with good, honest hard work.

§ You must complete an aspiration before you choose a new one.

§ Remember to work smarter, not harder!

· Added Challenge 1: The Landgraab’s mansion in Oasis Springs is only worth about 239,000s. To make the challenge more difficult, you can either build your sim's dream home, worth at least 1 million S, or do the following:

· Go to the Landgraab residence and go to BB mode.

· Go to the gallery and search “million dollar mansion” or something similar) for the lot size/residential

· Find a new home worth 1 million plus.

· This is your new challenge goal – take over this lot and claim it as your own!

· Added Challenge 2: If you own most, or all of the packs, make it harder by requiring one house or business flip in each world before you can take over the Landgraab’s home!

· I would love for you to give it a try, and let me know what you add or change! Happy Simming Everyone.
